Articles Submission Guidelines
In VancouverLatino.com we encourage our readers to submit content. We accept submissions in Spanish as well as English. Quality English articles will be translated to Spanish by our editorial stuff. All articles are subject to editing for clarity, length and style and authors are informed of any significant changes to their work.
Article Length Submitted articles should generally aim to be around 400~600 words in length. Shorter article submissions will not be rejected on the basis of length
Copyright Violations You are responsible for the content of your articles. Do not submit articles that violate the copyright of others. If you quote from other articles make sure that you cite the article properly using html code, a reference in the text, or a footnote.
No pictures or images of anyone but you and your friends and family. If you are permitted to upload photos to the Website, link to embedded videos, or include other images of real people, make sure they are of you or of you and someone you know but only with their express permission to submit it.
Don’t upload third party materials. Your User Content should not contain any visible logos, phrases or trademarks or other third party materials. Do not use any User Content that belongs to other people and pass it off as your own. This includes any content that you might have found elsewhere on the Internet. It is important that you do not infringe other people’s intellectual property rights.
Please follow codes of social decency. Be respectful of other people’s opinions and comments so we can continue to build a community for everyone to enjoy. If you think your User Content might offend someone, chances are it probably will and it does not belong within our community on the Website. Cursing, flaming, harassing, stalking, posting insulting or threatening comments, personal attacks, gossip or similar actions are prohibited. Your User Content must not threaten, abuse or harm others. Your User Content must not include any negative comments that are connected to race, religion, national origin, age, gender, sexual preference or disability/physical handicap or that are defamatory, slanderous, indecent, obscene, hateful, inflammatory, offensive, pornographic or sexually explicit or otherwise objectionable or damaging to another’s use or enjoyment of the Website.
Editorial Authority By submitting an article, authors acknowledge that VancouverLatino.com editorial staff will have final decision-making authority on the editing of the piece. VancouverLatino.com’s editors will make every effort to work with authors to create an article that meets the satisfaction of both the author and the editorial board.
How to submit an article
In order to submit content, you will need to register with the site. Once you’re registered, you will be able to login and submit your content by using the “New Post” button on your account dashboard.
You may upload up to 4 pictures along with your content.
